Redirect Checker
Enter a URL to trace each redirect step: 301, 302, 307 and 308 codes, chains, loops and HTTP to HTTPS.
Results come from a live request to the public URL you enter. They are signals, not a guarantee of rankings or security.

How to use the Redirect Checker
- Enter the URL you want to trace.
- Click Trace redirects and wait for the live check.
- Read each step: the status code and where it sends the visitor.
- Fix chains and temporary redirects that should be permanent, then test again.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between 301 and 302?
A 301 (or 308) tells search engines a move is permanent. A 302 (or 307) says it is temporary. Use permanent codes for permanent moves such as a URL change or HTTP to HTTPS.
Why avoid redirect chains?
Each extra hop adds delay and wastes crawl effort. Point the first URL directly to the final one when you can.
Does it follow JavaScript or meta refresh redirects?
No. It follows HTTP redirects only, the ones sent in the response headers.
Is the result saved?
No. The check is live and nothing is stored.
